I’ve been learning Korean with Monica for about 5 years now, and it’s been such a great experience! She’s an amazing teacher—super proactive, flexible, and always willing to shape the lessons around what I’m interested in. Whether it’s something specific I want to focus on or just a random curiosity about Korean culture or slang, she always finds a way to bring it into our lessons in a really natural and engaging way.
She’s also incredibly organized and reliable, which I really appreciate and made it so much easier to stay consistent over the years.
As a student, what I always look for in a teacher is someone who keeps me motivated, makes learning feel personal, and helps me actually use the language in real life—and Monica does exactly that. Learning a language so different from my own, directly from someone who brings so much warmth and authenticity, makes a huge difference.
I can clearly see how much my speaking and understanding have improved and I’m genuinely excited to keep learning for a long time to come.

Lessons are well-structured but still feel relaxed and comfortable, which makes it much easier to stay motivated.
One thing I especially appreciate is how she make learning fun by including engaging games in the lessons, It keeps things interesting.
She also create such a positive and encouraging environment. Even when I make mistakes, I never feel discouraged — instead, I feel motivated to try again and keep improving. She adapt the lessons to suit my pace and interests, which has really helped me build confidence in my Korean.
Overall, I feel much more confident in my Korean thanks to her patience and teaching.

I wanted to learn Korean because a lot of the shows I watch and music I listened to contained Korean language. She is very patient and has a real talent for making complicated Korean grammar perfectly understandable. I took Korean lessons with Bo-Kyung for a while too, because my daughter and I were planning a trip to Seoul. Thanks to Bo-Kyung, we knew enough Korean to get by — being able to read the alphabet was immensely useful — and she also gave us lots of useful tips on what to do in the city. Everything Bo-Kyung does is tailored to the learner’s needs. She is also a thoroughly delightful person. I cannot recommend Bo-Kyung as a Korean teacher highly enough.
