Learning Made Simple & Fun

I am so lucky person because I am doing a job for living as I feel so happy and enjoying it. I love watching K-dramas or Korean contents on Youtube. When I find something good, I always share with my students and talk about it with them. Sometimes my students suggest me their favourite too. My students and I are easy to forget how much time passed because we are too passionate to talk about our favourite lines, scenes and even fashion in the show.

I love listening to Korean music. I can’t say only K-pop to be honest. When I feel a little sentimental, I listen to early 2000s Korean ballads. When I feel lovely, I listen to AKMU albums. When I want to have some fun, I listen to K-pop idol music. Sometimes my students introduce me to new K-pop groups or songs and sometimes I introduce them too. Listening each other’s favourite songs is part of fun time during the lessons.

I love food. I can stay up all night to talk about food. Since I move to London, I have more opportunities to make food from home, especially Korean food. I started to make my own kimchi, bibimbap, galbijjim, mandu etc. I love talking about Korean food with my students and finally last year I had a small workshop to make gimbap with my students and their family and friends. All of people couldn’t help themselves constantly smiling because it was really nice to share the joy together!

I have been teaching Korean at various institutions since 2019. I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea.

I can’t say I was a great teacher from the beginning but now I can say I am a good teacher to encourage my students to enjoy learning Korean language.

Since 2021, I have been teaching Korean in London. Currently, I run after-school Korean language and culture classes at Old Ford Primary Academy, The Henrietta Barnett School, and The Latymer School.

My students are based in countries such as the United States, Switzerland, and the UK, so I offer both online and in-person lessons.

I was born and raised in Korea. As a native Korean, I believe the Korean language is something truly special and meaningful. It is a warm and expressive language, and I would love to share its beauty with people from all around the world.

When I was learning English as a Korean, I realised that the most important thing was to genuinely enjoy the learning process. As I began to have fun while learning, my English skills improved naturally.

I believe the same applies to learning Korean. If learning isn’t enjoyable, it becomes easy to lose motivation. That’s why my lessons are always full of energy and fun.

In my classes, you will learn Korean in an engaging way and practice it with confidence. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself having natural conversations with me in Korean.
